  Course Description
Prerequisite: SPA2140, SPA2612, SPA4602, SPA4612 or departmental approval. Continuation of SPA2140, SPA2612, SPA4602 or SPA4612 is emphasized with intermediate level sign vocabulary and use of signing space. This provides greater opportunity for skill development in ASL structure and introduces ASL idioms.

American Sign Language course work may not satisfy the foreign language graduation requirements at some universities.
  Course Objectives
This intermediate level course is designed for students who have successfully completed Master ASL! – Level One, the introductory course in the series, and have a basic level of communication skills and knowledge of deafness and Deaf culture. American Sign Language II will lead to intermediate expressive language skills concentrating on non-English conceptual signing. American Sign Language sentence structure, idioms, classifiers, and non-manual markers will be emphasized. The development of reverse sign language skills will be an important part of this course. UNITS 6 – 10 in Master ASL! – Level One will be covered in this intermediate level course.
